Spicy Mixed Meat & Vegetables Stew

Hello everyone!

Today I am going to introduce to you one of the most popular stews in Korea. A direct translation of the name would be military stew as it is rumoured to have been created in the military. It is extremely simple to make and is also one of my favourite Korean stews.

Main Ingredients:
  • 1 can of spam (ham)
  • sausages
  • onions
  • kimchi
  • ramen
  • green onions
  • tofu
  • cheese (optional)
Sauce Ingredients:
  • 3 spoons red pepper paste
  • 1 spoon red pepper powder
  • 1 spoon diced garlic
  • 3 spoons soy sauce
  • pinch of black pepper
I have left out the exact portions for main ingredients as it is really up to personal tastes.

*Note: For the green onions, you can choose to either cut them up into large pieces and add them at the beginning, or dice them into smaller pieces and add them at the very end.

Steps:

1. Slice all of the main ingredients except the ramen so that they are bite-size and combine all of the sauce ingredients together in a bowl.

2. Put all of the ingredients (main and sauce except ramen) into a wide pot and fill it with water so that the ingredients are just covered.

3. Boil the pot at medium heat. Once the main ingredients are cooked, add in the ramen. Add about half of the powder sauce included in the ramen package or however much you would like according to your tastes.

4. Serve and enjoy once the ramen noodles are cooked!

As I mentioned, it's super simple! Good luck and have a happy yummy day!
